Prince William County Public Schools (PWCS) is excited to partner with Amazon Web Services (AWS) in their recently announced cloud computing education initiatives. PWCS students will gain exposure to the important role of cloud computing and the employment opportunities that skills in this field offer.
PWCS is a leader in forward-thinking career readiness programs and is pleased to partner with AWS in preparing students for the high-demand, high-skilled, and high-wage cloud computing careers.
PWCS is a leader in information technology (IT) opportunities for students, with two IT specialty programs and several schools offering cybersecurity and other computer related coursework. As a result of PWCS’s collaboration with AWS, PWCS will be able to infuse cloud computing related content to this rapidly changing coursework that helps to prepare students for the dynamic job sector in Northern Virginia.
This effort is greatly enriched by collaboration with Northern Virginia Community College and the early college opportunities that dual enrollment courses provide our students. PWCS is also excited about the prospects of new courses and instructional resources that Virginia’s partnership with Amazon will bring to schools throughout the Commonwealth.
Beyond the classroom, PWCS is a national leader using cloud technology, including the implementation of the new student information system, The Hub. PWCS is one of the largest school divisions in the United States to utilize the Synergy platform on the Amazon Web Services Cloud.
