PG diploma course in big data analytics at BMCC | Pune News
Pune: The Brihan Maharashtra College of Commerce (BMCC) will start a new post graduate diploma course in big data analytics, following the demand for professionals in the field.
Graduates from any stream can apply till July 15. The total intake is 60. The course will commence from July 25.
The BMCC is one of the first colleges in the city to offer a PG diploma in this subject.
The Deccan Education Society’s BMCC started the course in collaboration with IBM. It will be a one-year post graduate diploma in big analytics (PGDBDA), which will start from the 2019-20 academic year.
Ashish Puranik, the vice-principal of BMCC, said, “In today’s competitive business environment, data analysis helps gather optimum information and utilize it in every sector, be it a small start-up or an established organization. It is th root of every business process whether is is sales, purchase, marketing or logistics.”
The course covers statistics, relations database management system, economics and research. Also, two international IBM certifications in predictive analysis and big data engineering would be made available.
This course is specifically designed for students who would like to accelerate their career as it gives a hands-on approach to case studies. The students have an added advantage to complete the certification programme, which will help them explore more challenging opportunities with business organizations across different sectors, Raval said.
