Big data is becoming the next big thing in the world of I.T. and is likely to transform the way businesses are conducted all over the world. In the last decade, the world and India have embraced digitisation in all aspects of life and businesses. Money transfer, communication and information storage have become efficient and effective and there is a growing demand for services to process Big Data to identify market trends.

According to an Accenture report, 92% of all big data users participating in the survey, agreed that they are satisfied with their business outcomes. The report emphasised that big data will revolutionise the way business is done the same way it did with the advent of internet in the 90s
In an exclusive interview with Leaders of Tomorrow, President, Asia Pacific & Japan and EVP, Global Digital Cities, Dell Technologies, Amit Medha said that data can be leveraged to gain competitive advantage and to develop disruptive technologies. Businesses operating in the services space are realising the growing demand for big data collection and processing. According to a 2018 report by NASSCOM-Zinnov, by 2021, more than 5 Lakh jobs will be created in AI and Big Data Analytics in India.
DELL TECHNOLOGIES’S SUITE OF SERVICES TO USHER COMPANIES INTO THE DIGITAL ERA
Dell technologies has gone through a series of transformations in the last few years. Apart from providing products such as Dell laptops, desktops and peripheral services, Dell now also provides infrastructural support for virtualisation and cloud computing through its vertical VMware. On the merger with EMC, Medha said that EMC has become the storage support for the company, enabling it to provide a range of I.T. services to its clients.
Accenture’s 2014 report on big data highlights that businesses will transform significantly due to big data. Medha agrees, “Companies that will fail to embrace digital technology and data analysis may head into oblivion,” he said.
