Reboot-18, the two-day annual tech-conference of the Calicut Forum for Information Technology (CAFIT), will begin at Government Cyberpark here on Saturday.
Representatives of renowned IT firms will address the event, which is expected to give participants a deep insight into trends in Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence, and Robotics.
“The event to be inaugurated by M.K. Raghavan, MP, is part of our efforts to promote Kozhikode as one of the promising IT destinations in India. It is open to all professionals, entrepreneurs, investors, and start-up enthusiasts from the Malabar region,” said K.V. Abdul Gafoor, secretary, CAFIT. It is the second edition of the annual meet, he added.
54 firms to participate
As many as 54 IT companies from Kozhikode district have so far confirmed their participation in the fair planned as part of the event. Organisers said more than 7,000 job aspirants will attend the fair.
Recruitments will be made to 1,000 vacancies already reported, they added. Invited talks by experts on skill development opportunities, talent upgrading, networking for the future, and new business opportunities in the field of software development will be among the attractions of the conference. Technological innovations in the industry, healthcare, supply chain, logistics, transport, insurance, and hospitality too will be covered during the two-day meet.
Organisers said around 300 candidates had secured placements in leading IT companies in the last edition of Reboot. Nearly 5,000 delegates had turned up for the maiden conference from the Malabar region, said.
